SEG VII Conference is offering optional field trips before and during the conference.

Copper Falls State Park $60
8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m., Saturday, 22 June 2024
Copper Falls State Park, located just over an hour from the conference site in Mellen, Wisconsin, is a beautiful park with hiking trails, a fire observation tower and a small shop with nature items. Spend a day hiking the trails and enjoying the wonderful waterfalls.
Cost includes transportation to and from the park, entrance fee to the park and a bag lunch.
Project Northwoods Arches Research Area $20
9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m., Sunday, 23 June 2024
The Project Northwoods Arches Research Area is located near the conference site and features a variety of habitats within its 91 acres. This is an excellent way to explore the Northwoods ecology and find a number of reptiles and amphibians.
Cost includes transportation to and from the site and a bagged lunch.
Barker Lake Golf Outing $50
3:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m., Monday, 24 June 2024
The Barker Lake Golf Course is located nine miles from the conference site right on the edge of the Chequamegon National Forest. Barker Lake was built in the 1920's by Chicago Gangster Joe Soltis. This Scottish style course has rolling hills, woods, water and sand even had top soil imported from Tennessee to allow for elevated greens and ideal conditions for golf. This is also a great place to observe wildlife including several species of reptiles and amphibians.

Cost includes transportation to and from the course, 9 hole round of golf, club rental, golf cart rental and one free drink from the Barker Lake Golf Course Club House.
